STEINBERG DENICOLA ANNOUNCE CONNOR BARWIN AS RECIPIENT OF HUMANITARIAN AWARD

Cosmo DeNicola and Leigh Steinberg, in partnership with the Maxwell Football Club, have announced Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Connor Barwin as the recipient of the 2017 Steinberg DeNicola Humanitarian Award. Barwin will be honored on Friday March 10th, 2017 during the Maxwell Football Club Gala at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City.

"Cosmo DeNicola and I established an awards program designed to highlight the major contributions that owners, executives, coaches, players and retired players make in their off the field philanthropic efforts," stated Leigh Steinberg.

Since arriving in Philadelphia, Barwin’s humanitarian efforts have not gone unnoticed.  He has been a big supporter of the Eagles Youth Partnership, a charity which serves low-income children within the Philadelphia area.  In December of 2013, he founded the Make the World Better Foundation (MWBF), which builds and rehabilitates parks to provide safe and fun spaces for outdoor athletic and artistic play. MTWB believes that communities prosper when young people have access to athletics and the arts.

MTWB is dedicated to raising funds through innovative and creative ways. In June 2016, Barwin hosted his third annual MTWB Concert, raising $200,000.  In 2014 and 2015, the foundation raised $700,000 for the renovation of South Philadelphia’s Ralph Brooks Park, which was featured in NFL Films Presents: The Street Eagle.
