Cosmo DeNicola honored by 1492 Society as a Grand Marshall of Philadelphia’s Columbus Day Parade

The Philadelphia Chapter of the 1492 Society held its Columbus Day Parade on Saturday, October 11th. The celebration of Christopher Columbus’s bravery and self confidence was held on Broad Street, Philadelphia’s longest and main thorofare. The participants marched down Broad Street to South Philly’s Marconi Plaza, the Center of the Italian American Community.

Cosmo was recognized at an Awards Ceremony on the evening of October 8th for his contributions to the sports and entertainment industry. Government officials presented him with a Proclamation from the State of Pennsylvania and City of Philadelphia for his accomplishments.

“It was an honor to represent Italians and my fellow Philadelphians,” stated DeNicola. “However, none of this would have been possible without the great Genovese navigator leading the way, Columbus’s courage continues to inspire me.”
