Fort Washington- Cosmo DeNicola and Leigh Steinberg of Steinberg Sports and Entertainment, along with Maxwell Football Club President Ron Jaworski announced the 2017 arrival of this iconic award. The Steinberg DeNicola award is to be presented to a representative of the NFL that has committed themselves to doing good in their community.
Previous winners of the award, which has been presented annually at the Steinberg Super Bowl Party, include owners, players, coaches and NFL executives. 2016 saw winners such as Jack Del Rio (Raiders), Hue Jackson (Browns), Kevin Demoff (Rams) and Anquan Boldin (49ers).

As a lifetime member there’s nothing better than acknowledging the good in people in such an amazing sport,” stated Cosmo DeNicola. “Leigh and I are looking forward to announcing our winner and sharing their story with the audience at the Tropicana in Atlantic City on March 10th. "
The winner will be honored Friday, March 10, 2017 at the 80th Maxwell Club National Awards Gala, which will be held at the Tropicana Casino Resort in Atlantic City, NJ. Also receiving awards at this event will be; Nick Saban – Alabama (George Munger Coach of the Year Award), Lamar Jackson – Louisville (Maxwell Award), Jonathan Allen - Alabama (Chuck Bednarik Award), James Conner – Pittsburgh (The Thomas Brookshier Spirit Award), Trace McSorley - Penn State (Brian Westbrook Tri-State Player of the Year Award), James Franklin - Penn State (Tri-State Coach of the Year award) and Steve Spurrier – South Carolina/Florida/Duke (The Francis Reds Bagnell Award for Contributions to Football). The Maxwell Football Club will announce the winners of the Bert Bell Award (Professional Player of the Year) and Earl “Greasy” Neale Award (Professional Coach of the Year) in January. Other MFC Awards at the high school, college and professional levels will also be announced in early January.
