Chicken Soup for The Soul Teams Up with The American Humane Society

Our two new pet books, Chicken Soup for the Soul: My Very Good, Very Bad Dog and Chicken Soup for the Soul: My Very Good, Very Bad Cat are #1 and #2 on the Adult Non-Fiction Overall Pets Bestseller List for the 4th consecutive week!

The stand-out success of our pet books is due in large part to the efforts of the American Humane Association (AHA), who to date have generated stories carried by more than 800 newspapers, TV and radio stations, and Web publications, with an estimated 26,959,367 audience impressions. The forewords of both books were written by the American Humane Society CEO Dr. Robin Ganzeet. Chicken Soup for the Soul is donating royalties from these books to the AHA.

This newest effort is part of the company’s widespread support for animal shelters and pet adoption, including the donation of Chicken Soup for the Soul pet food and books to shelters across the country. Chicken Soup for the Soul is also serving as the Therapy Dog Category Sponsor and official Pet Food Sponsor at the 2016 American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards®, the annual nationwide search for America’s bravest canines.

“From clever cats that sneak food to heroic dogs that save lives—from mischievous dogs that chew shoes to intuitive cats that repair families—from goofy cats that crack us up to nurturing dogs that act like therapists—you’ll have a new appreciation for your own dog or cat’s unique skills,” Publisher Amy said. “Chicken Soup for the Soul is proud to work with American Humane Association to ensure more animals like the ones featured in our two new books are adopted out of our nation’s shelters and find forever homes. Thank you for supporting this very worthy cause.”

Chicken Soup For the Soul publisher, Amy Newmark will appear in a regular weekly spot on Doug Stephan’s Good Day radio show, which is currently heard on over 350 radio stations by over 3 and a half million listeners every week. She will be on every Tuesday at 7:55 AM ET with a tip for positive living
