On Monday, April 20, Cosmo DeNicola will be the featured speaker at the United Nations Headquarters on the subject of 'The Power of Art and Film' and its role in international diplomacy.

In addition, Cosmo will also be hosting a luncheon that day to honor Iraqi filmmaker Yasir Kareem for the international success of his short film, 'Kingdom of Garbage' -- the film that has been selected from thousands of other entries to compete in the ‘Best Short Film’ category at the 2015 TriBeca Film Festival.

The film was financed by The Humpty Dumpty Institute (HDI), a philanthropic organization in which Cosmo serves as an active board member. Upon receiving a grant from the United States Embassy in Baghdad, HDI flew 6 young, Iraqi filmmakers (including Mr. Kareem) to Los Angeles as a part of the 2013-14 International Film Exchange (IFE), an intensive film program at UCLA.

The event will begin around 12:30pm, and will bring together influential thought leaders including various U.N. Ambassadors, U.N. Diplomats and prominent New Yorkers.
