The Humpty Dumpty Institute (HDI) is pleased to announce that their TOMS ‘Shoe Giving Project’ initiative has been one of great success. The project, (implemented in 2013), was designed to distribute thousands of new shoes to school children (ages 7-18) who are living in the poor areas of central Vietnam's Quang Tri province, an area that is contaminated byunexploded ordnance (UXO).

Through the project, both HDI and TOMS have distributed 181,500 pairs of TOMS to 244 different schools. Providing these children with a new pair of shoes has not only stimulated their self-confidence, but helped protect them from cuts, infections and diseases. In addition, the shoes have helped to ease the economic burden on their families as well as increase awareness of the dangers of UXO, which pose a lingering threat to the people of Quang Tri Province.
